LECH MEGAparty in Gorlice

“Will you help? Yes, we will!” (the famous Polish “Pomożecie? Pomożemy!”). And this time they actually did. Thanks to the full mobilisation of the inhabitants and 37725 Internet votes cast on the town, it was made possible for the LECH Mega Party to be held in Gorlice. Considering that Poznań didn’t even get close to five digits (the Greater Poland capital got merely 907 votes), the feat Gorlice managed is all the more impressive.
The effort definitely paid off and luckily it didn’t stop on empty promises this time. The LECH Mega Party trucks entered the town in the very beginning of July. Also, the mobilisation was not limited to virtual clicks from the computer and one could think that almost all of the online voters decided to come and personally admire the fruits of their labour.
Although most of the Gorlice stadium transformed into a dancefloor that night, one could also enjoy the beach area and the – far more original at that time of year – snow area. However, it was the Freedomes dome tents that became the very centre of attention, as is tradition. Three fully air-conditioned spherical structures, with their look and innovative architecture, attracted all of the party-goers. The beer served inside might have had an influence, though.
But it was only after sundown that they looked truly impressive; the lit geodesic domes looked really amazing against the starry sky. The LECH tents that were used during the party were two Freedomes F150 dome tents and one Freedomes F110 dome tent, interconnected in a way that created a kind of complex.
After the LECH Mega Party, inhabitants of Gorlice can be proud of themselves, and not just because we had to replenish the bar stocks twice during the night to quench their thirst. Although that is further evidence that together we can accomplish a whole lot.
