A whole city of event domes became a part of the landscape in the Belgian town of Tessenderlo - eight domes were there to promote the open days of one of the biggest chemical plants in the world.

In the Belgian town of Tessenderlo, near Antwerp, the open days of the Tessenderlo Chemie Group chemical factory took place. Freedomes spherical halls were set up by the factory site main entrance, where visitors started their tour of the plant. The innovative tents that we provided, as many as eight, definitely contrasted with the surrounding architecture and attracted many passers-by to the exhibition. All of the Freedomes dome tents were interconnected with tunnels, and they also connected the nearby hall tents.

Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the company’s history, the research being conducted in Tessenderlo and about the development of new technologies, the chemical production process, the aspects associated with ecology and safety.

Four Freedome 75 tents, two spherical Freedome 110 structures, one Freedome 50 dome and one Freedome 150 dome hall took the audience to a world of chemistry, presented in interactive exhibitions.

The factory’s representatives convinced the audience how versatile the use of resources produced at Tessenderlo Chemie is. They presented countless numbers of household items that were produced thanks to materials created at the factory. What excited the audience’s imagination most was the sight of the Mercedes SLR sports car, whose cockpit and interior elements are produced using resources from Tessenderlo.

To many of the visitors a journey through spherical space strongly reminded them of visiting a cosmic base on some distant planet, and the look on the faces of the people leaving the last dome tent gave away their disappointment that they were still on Earth.

However, if mankind were to build a settlement on a distant planet we can assure you that it will include things created thanks to Tessenderlo resources.
